RUSS M. HERMAN

Russ M. Herman is one of the most brilliant speakers on the trial lawyer circuit today. A senior partner of Herman, Herman and Katz, LLC, in New Orleans,he is a top mass torts litigator who has taken lead roles in several multi-jurisdictional major suits.  Herman, who has practiced law across the country for more than fifty years, was named as the 1977 Outstanding Lawyer by the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association and has continued to receive local and national accolades since then. 

Herman served as the President of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association from 190 -1981 and as well  served as President of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America from 1989 to 1990.  He is a diplomate of several advocacy groups.  In 2001, Mr. Herman was selected for the Leonard M. Ring Champion of Justice Award, the highest honor bestowed by ATLA. 

In 2010, Russ Herman was admitted to the Trial Lawyers' Hall of Fame which includes American trial lawyers such as President John Adams, Clarence Darrow, Fred Levin, Morris Dees among others.

Russ Herman served on the litigation committee for the State of Louisiana v. American Tobacco Company, Ellis v. RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company (representing the State of California) and Scott v. The American Tobacco Company where he was lead counsel on behalf of a class of Louisiana smokers who were awarded a landmark jury verdict of more than $591,000,000.00.

He has authored over 200 articles, papers and books and has been published in numerous legal periodicals and text books.
