Clarence Darrow defends John T. Scopes, accused of teaching Darwinism in Tennessee during the Scopes Trial of 1925. William Jennings Bryan, the Fundamentalist prosecuting attorney, claimed he was “not so much interested in the age of rocks as in the Rock of Ages.” Darrow, in cross examination, took him apart “ like a dollar watch.”
